Ph.D Nursing

Eligibility Criteria for full time Ph.D: 3 years

• Candidates who are not employed anywhere.
• Candidates will be available full time at PPG College of Nursing during the study period.
• Having a minimum of 2 years experience after PG.

ELIGIBILITY CERTIFICATE FOR Ph.D CANDIDATES :

The candidates applying for Ph.D Provisional Registration from The TamilNadu Dr. MGR Medical University for January/July Session should obtain Eligibility Certificate from the University. For January Session the candidate has to get Eligibility Certificate from 16th October to 15th November and for July Session from 16th April to 15th May.

January	16th October to 15th November (The fee should be paid from 16th October to 15th November of the year through online PAYMENT GATEWAY/University Challan, if fails, such applications will not be taken up for the Meeting of the Screening Committee)
July	16th April to 15th May (The fee should be paid from 16th April to 15th May of the year through online PAYMENT GATEWAY/ University Challan, if fails, such applications will not be taken up for the Meeting of the Screening Committee)

Apart from the above, the candidate should submit the documents requested in the application form for the issue of Eligibility Certificate for admission to Ph.D (Doctor of Philosophy) as per the Ph.D Regulations.

• Attested Xerox copy of the Postgraduate Educational qualification Certificate.
• Those with postgraduate qualification acquired from the other states have to produce the following documents:
• Attested Xerox copy of the State Council Registration Certificate for Post graduation.
• Attested Xerox copy of the Migration Certificate from the University in which the candidate has completed his/her Postgraduate qualification.

Original Ethical Committee Clearance certificate for Human/Animal studies from the Institution in which the candidate intends to do their Research Programme.

Write up/Brief summary should contain 10-20 pages with the following topics :

• Introduction
• Objective/Aims
• Previous work done
• Plan of study
• Research Methods
• Expected results/outcome
• Innovations/Applications
• References

CERTIFICATES

• Original No objection certificate from the Head of the Institution if working in the affiliated institution.
• Original Permission letter from the Head of the Institution & Department to utilize the Department for Research purpose.
• Original Consent letter from the recognized guide of this University to serve as a guide for the candidate.
• Original Permission letter from the Candidates who are proposed to pursue the research in Government Institutions should be produced from the Director of Medical Education.
• Candidate has to submit duly filled in Eligibility Certificate application form downloaded from the Website of The TamilNadu Dr.M.G.R. Medical University (www.tnmgrmu.ac.in) either in person or by post.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

• The non-medical faculties who wish to register for a Ph.D Degree should have obtained a minimum of 55% as aggregate in their Post Graduate Degree.
• The above qualifying degrees should be from the Faculties of this University or any other University recognized by the Association of Indian Universities, Indian Nursing Council.
• Teacher / Staff / Faculty Candidates : It includes candidates who are employed and working as Tutors / Assistant Professors / Lecturers / Readers / Additional Professors / Associate Professors / Professors and Head of the Department in recognized departments / Institutions affiliated to this University.
• Non Teacher / Non Staff / Non Faculty Candidates : It includes candidates with Medical, Dental, Indian Medicine, Homeopathy & Paramedical qualifications who are not employed and not working in the teaching cadres but still having the eligibility and qualifications as mentioned in the Regulations 3.3 and opting to do research in a recognized Departments / Institutions affiliated to this University.
